Jim KaeseJim Kaese - IU '91
Jim is a former All-American triathlete with multiple race podium finishes to his credit, including a 2nd place finish
at the2003 USA Nationals. A
long course and Ironman
distance success story
known for his cycling dominance, he has enjoyed sponsorships from well-known athletic companies
such as Brooks Running, Rudy Project Apparel, and Genisoy Foods.

Jim gained his training and coaching expertise from some of the greatest names in cycling and triathlon, including Paula Newby Fraser - 8x Ironman Hawaii Champion.

He is a best-selling author and co-founder of Athletic-Minded Traveler, LLC - an active lifestyle
media company that operates the largest online healthy travel resource at www.athleticmindedtraveler.com.
Jim currently resides in San Diego with his wife, Erin, and daughter, Sevrin.

  
Dan FunkDan Funk - IU '93
Dan was a 3 year rider for Phi Psi, which placed as high as 4th during his tenure. He also made the All Star team his senior year. Dan lives in Chicago, IL and works for Leo Burnett USA, where he is a VP-Planning Director, leading the brand strategies for clients ranging from Nintendo to Altoids.

He recently qualified for the Boston Marathon and is currently training to compete in his first Ironman race in September 2007, with the goal of qualifying for the 2008 World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

  
Brad SerifBrad Serf
Brad was a two year rider for Phi Psi and helped the team win the pre-race Series Championship in 1989 and finish 4th in the Little 500. He remains active as a Little 500 race official and has missed only two races since 1986. Serf continues to compete in triathlon, marathon and half marathon events annually. He will race in the inaugural Ironman Louisville, scheduled for August 2007.

Brad is a vice president at Gibson Insurance Group
with offices in South Bend and Plymouth , IN. He is responsible for providing risk management and insurance services to business clients. He holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters designation and a Master of Business Administration from Indiana Wesleyan University . Brad and his wife Patricia have two boys ages 8 & 10 - both are future Little 500 riders currently building their cardiovascular base in age-group swimming where each has achieved state qualifying times.

  
Brad SerifMatt McKenzie - IU ’91
Matt
was a 4-year rider for Phi Psi with a best place of 4th his senior year. Other Little 500 accomplishments include a
pre-race Series Championship (’89)—eventually finishing 9th that year. Matt has been an active USCF/USA Cycling participant since 1984, racing on the track and road
at the category 2 and 3 levels.

Accomplishments include Gold Medalist, Juniors Points Race & Match Sprints at the 1986 State of Michigan Championship (going on to Junior Nationals that year); Bronze Medalist, Sr. 3 Road Race at the 2001 State of New Jersey Championship.

Matt is an equity portfolio manager for Mercantile Capital Advisors and holds a MBA from the University of Chicago. He lives with his wife and three children in Baltimore, MD.

  
Brad SerifChas Pall - IU ’06
Chas rode for Phi Psi in four consecutive Little 500's. Under his leadership, the team progressed from a qualifying position of 33rd to 7th, 1st, and 2nd, over the following three years, respectively. After his junior year at IU, Chas was invited to ride for the Bacardi/Nuvo CAT 3 team out of Indianapolis, competing in mostly crits for the summer months. During his senior year, Chas posted a sub 33 second lap during qualifications (the fastest single lap in recent Little 500 history). He also placed 6th in the Individual Time Trial series event.

Chas is now attending graduate school in Indianapolis.
He plans to graduate in July with a Masters in Biology,
after which he would like to attend dental school. He is now training to compete in his first triathlon in May of 2007 and plans to compete in three other triathlons during the summer of 2007.
